Who is Potts Cues?

Potts Cues takes direct inspiration from Gareth Potts, using his personal playing specifications to produce an authentic replica of his current chinese 8 ball cue. Gareth is widely regarded as one of the most successful 8‑ball players in history, both on and off the table

Gareth has dominated the world of 8‑ball for more than 25 years. Known for his consistency, cue‑ball control, and elite competitive mindset, he has become a global figure in both English 8‑ball and Heyball (Chinese 8‑ball). He currently serves as the Brand Ambassador for JOY Billiards, one of the world’s largest and most respected table manufacturers.

Standard cues often fail to meet the unique demands of Heyball: 

● American Pool Cues: Large tips (12–14mm) lack the precision required for 
Heyball’s demanding rail shots and accuracy. 

● Snooker Cues: Smaller tips (9–9.5mm) and thinner shafts lack the strength 
required to move the larger, heavier American-sized balls used in Heyball. 

"The Potts Solution" 

The Potts Cue provides the "Perfect Balance" through specialised specifications used by Gareth himself: 
● Tip Size: 11.5mm—specifically scaled for the ball-to-pocket ratio of Heyball. 
● Shaft Design: A proprietary taper engineered to generate maximum power 
and cue-ball control. 
● Premium Components: Carbon fibre ferrule and a medium Kamui tip as 
standard. 
● Calculated Deflection: Unlike "zero-deflection" cues that restrict a player's 
ability to "bend" or "throw" the ball, the Potts Cue retains a specific level of 
deflection. This allows professional players to manipulate side-spin and 
cheat angles, essential for high-level 8-ball play.
